This is Jeremy the golden retriever, a character for my university animation project, from sketch to digitalisation.
No…he’s not peeing on the coffee cup, he’s just realised he nearly stepped on it.
I don’t claim the copyright of the coffee stained texture i’ve used in the background.
This pretty much explains my state of mental sanity right now. Apparently, not a good one.
What they don’t tell you when you apply for an animation course is how you’ll progressively get mad during those 3 years.
Gave Photoshop another chance after a friend of mine fixed the tablet pressure issue (grazie Vivi!) and….yeah, i probably won’t do that again. Yay for Paint Tool Sai brushes!
Wolf line art on newsprint paper.
I wanted to do a test using more squared shapes and straight lines, and adopting a more realistic but simple drawing style. It was more an excuse to break up from the animation project i’m working on though.
Too bad i came to realise newsprint paper is not the best if you’d like to use ink, but it didn’t act too badly with pigment liner pens. Still got loads of this kind of paper i’m not using because my life drawing classes are over (of course when i finally started to enjoy them).

Sketched this last summer and just recently inked and coloured it. Meh…need to work work on shades. Also had some problem with the layer structure, so i couldn’t add lights as i had wished.

A sketch of a character i’ve paid no attention since its creation. I’ve created it about two years ago and completely forgot about it…poor boy.

I wanted to try my ink nib and realised how difficult it is to use it, still a quite interesting medium though. I screwed up with the pressure at some point (especially in the second pictures), so i tried to recover by adding somelights with white pencil in the first one.
The quality is not the best, but i was drawing directly on a black cardboard with white ink.
And yeah..urgh…anatomy….
Uhm…a little something done to try new techniques in digital art. And also improve drawing backgrounds.
